Are you paying too much rent?

Certain residential properties have a restriction on re-renting, such as those where a tenant was evicted by the Ellis Act, an owner-move in, capital improvement, demolition without a development agreement with the City of San Francisco, condo conversion sale, or lead abatement. If the owner re-rents before the 5-year period is up, the residential property must be offered at the same rent that the former tenant was paying (plus annual allowable increases.)

Contact the San Francisco Assessor and Recorder’s Office for restrictions on a property.
