Before You Call:
1. Our volunteers are extremely busy—it may take a few days to get to your call. If it's an emergency or an answer you need within the next day or so, please come into our office in person where you will get your needed information quicker.
2. Have you thoroughly reviewed your handbook? Our counselors answer many factual questions which are clearly written in the handbook.
3. Questions which involve documents (e.g., leases, notices, etc.).can not be dealt with via phone counseling. If your question involves documents, please come into our office in person with your documents.
4. Phone counseling works best as a supplement to in-person counseling and for answers to specific questions. Please do not use phone counseling for complete analysis of your problem but rather to get answers or clarifications on specific questions. Before calling, formulate your question so you and the counselor can concisely get to the answer.
5. Please make sure you call the counseling phone number. Other lines are not answered by counselors.
